just plain lovely.

pounding fist, to head, to paper
how did i wind up here?
feeling more alone than ever before
hoping to wither, then disappear

you’ve sucked me absolutely
and positively dry
the marrow escaped from all my bones
what a bare goodbye

just plain lovely
how lithe our little limbs grow
just plain lovely
the sight of ribs beginning to show
just plain lovely
that no one else knows

guilt bites back at the fever
that rages in my mind
a few short months to be living a lie
that will be too far gone
by the time they find

just plain lovely
how lithe our little limbs grow
just plain lovely
the sight of ribs beginning to show
just plain lovely
that no one else knows
just plain lovely
how lithe our little limbs grow
just plain lovely
the sight of ribs beginning to show
just plain lovely
that no one else knows

i will not fail again
myself, not you
i will not lose
cowardice won the battle this time
my only crime is scratches
instead of burning scars i bear
but this, oh, i swear
is true in the end i will be bleeding ink
so very blue

just plain lovely
is what i will be
just plain lovely
for the world to see
just plain lovely
to everyone but me.

pounding fist, to head, to paper
when will i end up there?
