natalie's song

there’s a boy.

he’s never alone.

always some form

of support on the phone.

you know that you’ll never change.

always a trail of broken hearts lying in your wake.

and how is it that you seemed so real,

but turned out to be oh-so fake?

and you cried out to her:

“c’mon, it’s obvious this life isn’t worth living.

c’mon,” you screamed, “darling,

aren’t you coming?

because i’m giving

up on this.

the way that we live.

i’m gone from here.

for strength we can’t give.

i love you.

so will you follow me?”

no inch left to self destruct

so old scars become new.

“long after into your bed you’ve been tucked,

i will run away with you.”

but you were never good with your promises.

were you?

(you) swore three words.

they swallowed them whole.

why wouldn’t they,

when those words came from a broken soul?

like you cried out to her:

“c’mon, it’s obvious this life isn’t worth living.

c’mon,” you screamed, “darling,

aren’t you coming?

because i’m giving

up on this.

the way that we live.

i’m gone from here.

for strength we can’t give.

i love you.

so will you follow me?”

there’s a boy ten years from this day.

he’s always alone.

wishes he’d have changed his ways.

screaming, “darling, won’t you stay?”

and next to him only his shadow lays.

because he cried out to them:

“c’mon, it’s obvious this life isn’t worth living.

c’mon,” you screamed, “darling,

aren’t you coming?

because i’m giving

up on this.

the way that we live.

i’m gone from here.

for strength we can’t give.

i love you.

so will you follow me?”

a promise made is not a promise kept.

wishes he’d have never left.

don’t you wish you’d have never left?

so put your headphones in

and close your eyes.

song the song that is your anthem.

forget all of those lies.

and breathe in. breathe out.

it’s hard to remember, but easy to do

after breaking an “i love you.”

and didn’t you scream for her to:

“c’mon, it’s obvious this life isn’t worth living.

c’mon,” you screamed, “darling,

aren’t you coming?

because i’m giving

up on this.

the way that we live.

i’m gone from here.

for strength we can’t give.

i love you.

so will you follow me?”

there’s a boy.

he’s never alone.

always some form

of support on the phone.
