unabashed.

aspirations are a funny thing,

and so I’d give them to you

for a laugh.

hopes are unreachable to most,

and so I would lend you

a ladder.

dreams are so fantastic that they’d

never come to truth,

and so I’d let you live

in lies.

and,

the small, almost silent voice

inside your head

from time to time will crawl

from its matchbox bed

to provide insight.

it tells you,

“perseverance, and determination

are the only ways to achieve

what could not be

from laughs

or ladders

or lies.

they must be found in a world of dark.”

and so i will give you my everlasting

light.
